The Beginner’s Fly Tying session will be held December 16th. The pattern chosen for that evening will be the bead head Prince nymph.
While the basic Prince nymph was developed in the early 1960s by Doug Prince, a fly tier from Visalia, California, several enhancements have been made over the years to the pattern, e.g. incorporation of a bead head, hot spot immediately behind the bead and for versions incorporation of legs.
With winter coming on, the Prince nymph should be considered a staple for pulling trout out of deeper sections of the stream. As customary, fly tying instruction on December 16th, will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, beginning at 7:00pm.
