Club Meeting: Fletcher’s Cove on the Potomac
November 13, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
We have a great program for you this month. Fletcher’s Cove has been a locally renowned paddling and unique fishing destination since the 1850’s and provides access to the Potomac River as well as the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. Fletcher’s Cove is home to Fletcher’s Boathouse, which was owned by the Fletcher Family from 1850 up until 2004 when the National Park Service acquired the property. It is now operated by Alex Binsted, our guest speaker at our next meeting on Tuesday, November 13th. Binsted will be explaining the myriad of fishing opportunities at Fletcher’s Cove for both fly and spin anglers. Anglers flock to Fletcher’s Cove for Striped Bass, American and Hickory Shad, Blue and Channel Catfish, Carp, Walleye, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass as well as the infamous Northern Snakeheads.
