Little Hunting Creek Outing

THE WATER: Pete Ring will lead a group of anglers to fish for wild brown trout on Little Hunting Creek near Thurmont, MD. It is very important to RSVP as the group is limited to eight, including Pete. Sign up on our outings page.

TIME AND LOCATION: The group will meet at the Catoctin Furnace on the Catoctin Furnace Road at 9 am. You can find it easily with a Google search.

RECOMMENDED FLIES: Olive & Black Woolly Buggers and nymphs such as Caddis Pupa, Copper Johns, Pheasant Tails, Hare’s Ears, San Juan Worms, Midges, and Zebra Midges can be effective. For dry flies, you can try Blue-winged Olive, Hex, March Browns, Sulphurs, and Elk Hair Caddis.
